Langhe Freisa DOC Vintage 2023
Tasting Notes
Our Langhe Freisa is a garnet-colored wine tending towards cherry red, with a scent that recalls the characteristics of the soil, followed by delicate red fruits such as strawberry, raspberry and finally pink.
On the palate it is pleasant, lively and with a pleasant tannicity.
Forthis reason is recommended to combine it with appetizers based on white meats and cold cuts and pasta dishes.
Langhe Freisa DOC
The Freisa vine is one of the most historic in Piedmont, there are documents that testify to its production as early as the 1700s.
It is also considered a close relative of Nebbiolo, thanks to its similar characteristics.
Its name derives from the French word “fraise“, strawberry, as its scent is perceived in the wine.
The Langhe Freisa grapes ripen quite late, towards the beginning of October and production is not abundant.
Its bunches are not particularly large but very compact and with small berries.
